About Us

At Bluenose Health, we believe that timely access to primary care is vital to the health of all Nova Scotians. Just as the Bluenose was a symbol of shipbuilding excellence in Nova Scotia, we see ourselves as participants in promoting healthcare excellence. We provide evidence-based primary care offered through a subscription model in which clients pay for services.
The clinic is led by nurse practitioners in a comfortable, confidential setting.

Nurse Practitioners are regulated by their college, and licensed to have their own private practice in Nova Scotia. The only service a GP family doctor can do that a nurse practitioner can’t is prescribe eye glasses.

Fees are based on the type of service provided, first time appointments are longer and provide a base line of health for each client. Follow up appointments for illness, prescription renewal, referrals, etc. would be scheduled for less time and charged accordingly. We offer timely services to those individuals that do not have an assigned primary care practitioner, but also to those that find they do not have timely access with their primary care practitioner.

Bluenose Health offers timely primary care services to Corporations in need of providing added health benefits to their employees.
